Congratulations to newly-minted Professor Alexander van der Haven! We are thrilled to announce that our very own Alexander van der Haven has been appointed Associate Professor of Religious Studies at the Department of Archaeology, History, Cultural Studies, and Religion, The University of Bergen, Norway! At Bergen, Alex will be establishing a new and exciting programme on religious minorities. We wish him every success in his new position.

Iris Idelson-Shein gave a talk on "Submission and Subversion in Early Modern Yiddish Translation" at the Seventh International Conference of the Centre for Jewish Languages and Literatures at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

In the annual meeting of the 'Mediterranean Studies Association' in Crete, Yakov Z. Mayer gave a talk on the transmission of Elijah Capsali’s writings in a lecture titled “Textual Transmission and Nomad Scholars in Early Modern Crete.”
